In September 2021 St George’s underwent a routine inspection from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), the body appointed by the Department for Education to inspect independent schools in England. This week long inspection comprised of both a Focused Compliance Inspection and a Educational Quality Inspection.

Focused Compliance Inspection

This inspection checks a targeted section of a school’s policies and practices are compliant with the regulations set by the Department for Education.

These inspections result in a binary judgement of ‘met’ or ‘not met’ against each applicable standard.

We are delighted that the school met all regulatory requirements.

St George’s School Edgbaston was judged to be fully compliant.

Educational Quality Inspection

This inspection focused on two key outcomes, (1) the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development and (2) the personal development of the pupils.

The quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements at St George’s was judged to be excellent.

The quality of pupils’ personal development at St George’s was judged to be excellent.

These are the highest judgement outcomes which can be made by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. The full inspection report, which includes details on these judgements, can be viewed below.
