St George’s School is proud of its strong Parent Teachers Association, which meets at the School once a month. The PTA ensures the fullest possible contact between parents and the School as well as planning and implementing important fund-raising initiatives which benefit the whole school community.
A message from Diane Galkowska, Chair of the PTA
St George’s PTA has enjoyed a very successful revival in the last couple of years under the leadership of my predecessor. We have raised significant funds through, for example, summer and Christmas Fayres, quiz nights and supplying refreshments at school events. With these funds we have bought extras that have added value to our children’s school life. The most obvious of these were the benches and tables placed in the school gardens.
In the near future we plan to buy bike sheds for the use of the pupils and other exciting new projects are being considered for the coming year.
Not only do our events raise funds but also they contribute greatly to the richness of St George’s school life, developing an awareness of the whole community and bringing parents, teachers and pupils together in a less formal environment.
It is a privilege being the Chair of St George’s PTA and the role has brought me a far greater understanding of the running of the school. We are keen to continue to grow during the coming months.
I look forward to meeting you in school at a future event and hope you will show your continued support by joining in on our activities or considering sponsorship opportunities.
