As part of their Evolution and Inheritance topic, Y6 were asked to research an endangered animal for their homework project. They then needed to persuade their peers which animal they should sponsor.

After much debate, the children agreed that they would like to adopt a Giant Panda. They created artwork to sell in a silent auction during parents’ evening to raise the necessary funds. In total, they raised £129 enabling them to sponsor both a Giant Panda and a Sea Turtle.

Due to raising awareness of endangered species, Year 6 were also able to apply off for a ‘green’ Blue Peter badge, recognising the children’s commitment to protecting nature and the environment.
