By this point in the academic year, we have completed the course content and we are focusing on revision, exam technique and pace.
Subject Overview:
In Further Maths, Year 11 students have 4 lessons each week.
Year 11 students will receive one 30-40 minutes piece of Maths homework each week. In addition, due to the complexity of the course, independent study is considered essential in order to achieve excellent results.
Assessments:
At the end of the course, students will sit 2 papers.
Both papers include a formula sheet.
Paper 1 is Non-Calculator and Paper 2 is a Calculator paper.
Both Papers consider a mix of question styles, from short single-mark questions to multi-step problems. The mathematical demand increases as a student progresses through the papers.
- Each papers are written exams: 1 hour and 45 mins each
- 80 marks Each
- Each paper corresponds to 50% of the AQA Level 2 Certificate in Further Mathematics assessment
