- What are the notes on the stave?
- How to identify notes on the keyboard.
- To be able to perform basic melodies on the keyboard with correct finger positions.
- To start to analyse listening pieces by ear with more detail.
- What is structure in music?
- To be able to describe what ternary, binary and rondo form is.
- What is the pentatonic scale?
- To know what the difference is between a them and an episode.
- To start to develop their compositional skills and performance skills on the keyboard.

Subject Overview:
Students in Year 7 have 1 Music lesson each week.
In Year 7, students have 1 piece of homework set every 2 weeks.
This homework is set according to the homework timetable.
Assessments:
Students in Year 7 sit a baseline assessment at the the start of the Autumn Term.
Students sit a listening and practical assessment at the end of each half term.
